An apology to my visitors

I just wanted to take a minute and apologize for the lack of new, interesting content on this site. About two weeks ago my artistic spirit went on vacation, it seems....and has yet to return. I'm not sure what prompted this exactly. Maybe it has something to do with all the visitors we've had and the fact that, though you think summer will be slow and relaxing, it is, on the contrary, more hectic than ever. Kids coming and going, people asking you to go do things you don't normally do, etc.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that our house is a nightmare at the moment. Due to a leaky roof, my husband had to tear out an exterior wall, which opened up the wall to Erica's closet. Everything she owns is in that closet, and it all had to be moved, temporarily, out of the closet, to anywhere we could find space in the house. It's a tiny, tiny house as it is (700 sq ft). So, for the time being, it's a bit of a mess/obstacle course. It's hard to find a place to paint/draw on a good day. But with the way things are right now, it's nearly impossible.

It's also just me. I can't seem to find a focus. The sketching is good and all, but I need to create a real painting now. I just don't know what. I guess you could say I'm "underinspired". I put a ton of pressure on myself, which I think, only makes matters worse.

In any case, it will come. My artistic spirit will return, it always does. So bear with me...one day (hopefully in the not so distant future) this will be an interesting site again.

In the meantime, I will continue to try to post daily, but instead of pushing myself to draw everyday, I will focus on sharing either something I'm working on now, or something from the past.

Anyway...I'm sorry. Things will get better here, I promise =)

Oh I can understand!! Sometimes summer and events that flood our home can sap us of energy and desire! Though you are an artist with a flare that will resprout as soon as you have time to bloom!

Thanks Corey =)

Your encouraging words mean more than you know. And, I'm sure you're right, it will come back eventually.
